With this Exhibition of nine new works Toby has set out to investigate a new way of thinking – thinking about materials, resources and place. His primary design sources are function, landscape and geology distilled to form structure and surface treatment.
This exhibition will arguably be the most influential body of work we will see for years to come.

Top Sawn Blackwood veneers over rotary peeled Blackwood veneers. Carcass, Birds eye Blackwood. Panels , King Billy Pine, stained, coloured with acrylics then waxed. Bit of Japan the wave origami handles but the sea is a big influence where I live.

Ebonised Eucalypt carcass. Drawers Huon Pine, Carved , coloured with oil paints and sealed. Moving inland from Bass strait along a tannin coloured river to distant hills.
