For her first solo exhibition, Sally has explored innovative and creative uses for a variety of materials not ordinarily considered suitable for fine furniture and design.

Thursday 17 November 2011 saw a celebration of innovation and design excellence, as the Tasmanian Design Award finalists for 2011 were announced at Clemenger Tasmania’s design studio in Hobart.

With this Exhibition of nine new works Toby has set out to investigate a new way of thinking – thinking about materials, resources and place. His primary design sources are function, landscape and geology distilled to form structure and surface treatment.

This exhibition will arguably be the most influential body of work we will see for years to come.
